During the 2008 Memorial Day ceremonies, The River Forest Service Club paid honor to the following River Forest residents who have served in the United States armed forces.

Robert Atkinson
Korean War, United States Air Force; Medical Technician in Hawaiian Islands and San Antonio, Texas

Henry Joseph Bode, Jr.
United States Navy: 1956-1960; Project Engineer for Nuclear Submarine Projects

John Samuel Gibbins
Vietnam War, Company A, 15th Battalion, 1st Air Cavalry Division

Robert Charles McAdam  (deceased)
World War II, United States Navy-U.S.S. Enterprise. Participated in The Philippine Liberation

Gilbert J. McGirr
World War II, United States Army-73rd Quartermaster Training Company, Camp Lee Virginia

Edward J. McMahon
World War II, United States Army-Infantry. Participated in the Assault and Occupation of Okinawa Gunto

Richard M. Neal  (deceased)
World War II, 36th Evacuation Hospital. Participated in the following campaigns: New Guinea, Luzon, and The Philippine Liberation

Rev. John Joseph O'Malley
United States Air Force. Chaplain from 1962-1988. Served in US; Greenland to Panama; Japan to the Azores
